Captain Grzyb enlisted in the Marine Corps on 01 August 2005. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. After graduating recruit training he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendleton, California. Following completion of MCT he attended MOS school at Twenty Nine Palms, California for Communication Electronic Maintenance Repairman (2847).
In October 2006, Captain Grzyb received orders to Marine Air Control Squadron 2 (MACS-2), Cherry Point, North Carolina. In November 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. While at MACS-2, he served as the Calibrations and Publications NCO. He also attended the Corporals Leadership Course and graduated in the top ten percentile in 2006. Captain Grzyb deployed with MACS-2 in 2007 to Camp Ramadi, TQ, and Al Asad, Iraq where he served as the Platoon Sergeant and Electronics Maintenance Chief. Captain Grzyb returned from Iraq in February 2008. Captain Grzyb was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant in August 2008, and was selected as the Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year 2008 for MACS-2. Captain Grzyb deployed to Saul Sinjar, Iraq in January 2009, and served as the Platoon Sergeant. He returned from Saul Sinjar, Iraq in October of 2009.
In February 2010, Captain Grzyb received orders to Marine Corps Communication Electronics School in Twenty Nine Palms, California. He attended Advanced Communications Maintenance Technician Course. While there, he obtained the MOS of 2862 and graduated the Course in the top tenth percentile.
In October 2011, Captain Grzyb received orders to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific, Coronado, California. While there he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served as the Communication Maintenance Chief, Intermediate Radio Operator Instructor, and a Fires Support Man instructor, he also served as the Command SharePoint Administrator/Webmaster.
In October 2012, Captain Grzyb received orders to Drill Instructor School class 1-13, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon graduation he was assigned to Charlie Company , 1st Recruit Training Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor.
In November 2015, Captain Grzyb received orders to 8th Communication Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While there he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, he served as the Electronics Maintenance Officer, Electronics Maintenance Chief, and Platoon Sergeant. In 2016 Captain Grzyb was selected and was awarded the PFC Herbert A. Littleton Award for Staff Non-commissioned Officer excellence in Electronics Maintenance. In 2017 Captain Grzyb was selected for the FY-18 Warrant Officer Program and received order for the Warrant Officer Basic Course.
In January 2018, Captain Grzyb attended the Warrant Officer Basic Course. While there he obtained the MOS of 2805. He also graduated in the top tenth percentile.
In July 2018, Captain Grzyb attended the Electronics Maintenance Supervisor Course in 29 Palms, California. Upon graduation he received order to 10th Marine Regiment, Headquarter Battery where he served as the Electronics Maintenance Officer. In August 2019 he was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Two.
In May 2020, Captain Grzyb was nominated and selected as the Marine Corps Ground Safety Officer of the Year FY20 for making significant contributions and accomplishments in the field of safety and mishap prevention during fiscal year 2020.
In July 2021, Captain Grzyb received orders to Combat Logistics Regiment-37, Comm Co where he served as the Ground Electronics Maintenance Officer and Executive Officer. He was promoted to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer three in August of 2022. In December of 2022 he was selected for the FY24 Chief Warrant Officer to Limited Duty Officer Program and was promoted to his current rank of Captain in February of 2023.
In July of 2023, Captain Grzyb received orders to Marine Wing Communication Squadron 18, where he served as the Maintenance Management Officer. In July of 2024, Captain Grzyb was assigned as the Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Detachment, Keesler AFB, MS.
Captain Grzyb personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two Gold Stars and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three Gold Stars.
